Train driver course – Dutch regulations
Netherlands-specific expertise and regulation for drivers holding a European licence from another member state.
Who it’s for
For drivers who already hold a European train driving licence and certificate, in Belgium or Germany for instance, and who are going to operate on the Dutch network.
After this course
Your driver has command of the Netherlands-specific regulation and systems needed to operate on the Dutch network.
Structure and content
- Around 15 teaching days, devoted entirely to the Netherlands-specific subjects
- From Dutch regulation, the signalling system and safety communication through to ATB, level crossings, shunting and incidents
- Optionally extended with teaching days on ERTMS Level 1 and 2, simulator run included
- Periodic reviews with the instructor, OBV and your mentor or team leader
- Concluded with a certificate naming the subjects covered
Practical
- Location: ’s-Hertogenbosch or your own site, outside the Netherlands as well
- Course material: OBV’s Rule Book, a syllabus, and e-learning with practice questions through RailSysteem
- Admission: the statutory minimum requirements, including a minimum age of 18 and Dutch at level 3
